La Haute Cuvée is the ultimate wine of our estate. Farmed to Demeter Biodynamic discipline, from the original blocks dating back to 1990, it is a blend of Hedges Estate and Magdalena parcels, both under family control. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon displays true expression of Red Mountain terroir and tells the “story of the season” with each unique vintage.
Demeter Biodynamic allows no herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fungicides to be used in farming the land, nor any commercial yeasts to be present during fermentation. There is a commonality in authentic wines such as La Haute Cuvée-they are intellectually provoking and wild, created under the laws of nature. La Haute Cuvée is the first Demeter-certified Biodynamic Cabernet Sauvignon ever made in Washington State.
Flagship wine of the estate, the HFE Red Mountain consistently displays dense color, firm tannins, and well-defined acidity. Always a majority blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine is suitable for drinking upon release, but will reward those with the patience to age it. This wine represents all vineyard blocks farmed within the Hedges Family Estate vineyard portfolio. A true chateau-production bottling, the HFE Red Mountain is the epitome of classic style, and one that represents the Terroir of the Red Mountain AVA in a pure and elegant form.
In 1976 Anne-Marie Liegeois said goodbye to her life in Champagne, France and left for the United States with her new husband Tom Hedges. The DLD Syrah is an homage to both the Dupont and Liegeois sides of her family. This wine is dedicated to her grand-father Marcel Dupont, Chevalier du Tastevin and bon-vivant, lover of good food and great wines. Grown on a 15 acre vineyard, named Les Gosses, this wine displays the greatest qualities of low yield farming. Earth, fennel spice and structure, the hallmarks of a great Red Mountain syrah, framed by classic French Oak barrels.
Sauvignon Blanc, dominant, with small amounts of Chardonnay and Marsanne.
A blended white with Sauvignon Blanc dominating over 75% of the wine, this was one of the original malic-acid friendly white wines released from Washington State. Rounding out the blend is a touch of chardonnay accompanied by just a pinch of Marsanne. Beautifully structured with wonderful Sauvignon Blanc fruit character, the mouth feel has a delicate balance of acid angularity and defined herbal sophistication.
CMS Red, Washington State's original blended red wine, has been produced and bottled by the estate since 1987. Consistently recognized as one of the best values in Washington State, CMS Red combines elegance and historic blending practices with top quality vineyard sources in the Columbia Valley. A style consistent with classic northern latitude wine growing, the CMS Red is known for a more Columbia Valley AVA regionally driven style, giving way to purity and structure over modernity.
The House of Independent Producers (HIP) Merlot refocuses the attention of the drinker to a varietal that gives reason to its dominance in the world. With minimal winemaking intervention, Merlots ability to display grace, some say better than that of Pinot Noir, is unmatched. The world's greatest merlots come from the Northern Hemisphere. Site specific, this wine derives from the Bacchus vineyard, known for wines of approachability and acidity, and the serious appeal of its condition is wonderfully expressed. HIP is a project directed by Christophe Hedges, bringing to the table some of the more compelling Columbia Valley AVA vineyard sites.
The House of Independent Producers (HIP) Chardonnay is as close to a Chablis style white as you can find on the west coast. The wine sees no oak, and is a true definition of terroir winemaking, highlighting the beautiful vineyards of Sagemoor Farms, specifically the Dionysus Vineyard. HIP is a project directed by Christophe Hedges, bringing to the table some of the more compelling Columbia Valley AVA vineyard sites.
The House of Independent Producers (HIP) Cabernet Sauvignon reminds the drinker why cabernet sauvignon is a structure varietal. A lean, angular, racy, penetrating, and crystalline structure is excellent for those drinkers looking for a more conservative fruit approach. Too many times this grape is abused with oak perfume and picked late, like an old man: wrinkled, soft, and complacent. Take your cabernet sauvignon young, tight, and transparent and leave the jam bombs for your sugar drinking friends. It's time to taste the varietal, not the brand. HIP is a project directed by Christophe Hedges, bringing to the table some of the more compelling Columbia Valley AVA vineyard sites.

The flagship Red Mountain blend is the truest representation of our terroir. As the smallest appellation in Washington State, Red Mountain has an extremely precise geographical expression, and it’s wines often linger even longer in the mind than on the palate.
